Logo Redraw!

So I was going through some identity work I’ve done I came across this redraw I did for a local business that unfortunately was never used. The logo was for a restaurant that is a little nice than the usual local fare. Here is their website so you can see the logo that is currently being employed.

The redesign is on the right, which was done in vector format, which is ideal for identity and branding so it can be scaled to various types of media. I wanted to keep the design close to the original, since the design was chosen for a reason in the first place, and more importantly, the logo has some iconic recognition in the community already!

This piece was created using a photo I shot of a local skateboarder, along with some stock photography I had also shot of paint swirls. I wanted to keep the visuals minimal to keep the message concise, as well as to not overwhelm the actual informational copy. The impact of the message was furthered by keeping the imagery high-contrast. The entire poster is vectorized, and can be printed to the size limits of the hardware being used.

I will be submitting this piece into the Anne Arundel Community College Student Art Show, which will take place in the John A. Cade center for Fine Arts Gallery from April 5th through the 8th.
